MSolutions expands its AV portfolio for collaboration rooms
MSolutions, an Israel-based provider of AV test devices and collaboration solutions based in Ra’anana, has evolved its AV product portfolio to better support today’s space-constrained, space-centric meeting and learning spaces. USB. Leveraging its expertise in measuring and ensuring signal integrity for demanding HDBaseT installations, MSolutions’ latest products help solve common video conferencing challenges in today’s collaboration environments, according to the society. These products will be exhibited at ISE 2022 (Fira de Barcelona, Gran Via, Barcelona, May 10-13, Stand 2P200).
Last year, MSolutions introduced a five-input USB 3.0-compliant expansion set (MS-6U41A) that foreshadowed a more comprehensive approach to AV solutions. The company has since expanded its portfolio with a line of space-saving video and audio capture products for collaboration rooms, including a 4K camera, beamforming microphone, and soundbar with built-in camera. The latter two represent the company’s first purely audio products. MSolutions has also introduced a second USB-C expansion set, removing the additional features of the MS-6U41A to provide a more affordable and targeted signal acquisition and transmission solution for collaboration rooms of all sizes.
“We’ve made significant research and development efforts to solve today’s most pressing business AV challenges, and hybrid meeting and learning spaces are key among them,” said Ariel Marcus, CTO, MSolutions. “This includes developing affordable solutions for these spaces with proven interoperability between all video and audio products. This ensures a unified USB workflow for wireless transmission that maintains exceptional quality from the original acquisition points.

New camera and extension products
On the video side, MSolutions presents its MS-4KCam 4K Ultra HD USB camera and its MS-6U1C USB-C extender. The company’s first 4K camera offers digital ePTZ capability that allows portions of the camera’s wide-angle image to be zoomed and repositioned (up to 120 degrees) to fill the frame. The extreme wide angle makes this camera ideal for medium to large spaces like conference rooms and auditoriums, but its low profile and affordable cost are ideal for tight spaces, according to the company.
The MS-6U1C Extension Kit pairs with the camera in all installations, allowing a single USB-C data channel to be extended up to 100 meters over a single Catx cable. The MS-6U1C also supports RS-232 serial pass-through and bi-directional 12V Power over Cable (PoC), and its rugged reliability ensures signal integrity is maintained even when devices are hidden from view.
“When space is limited, people want to mount USB devices on walls, above video screens, or in other remote locations to keep the conference table uncluttered and enhance the decor of the room,” says Eliran. Toren, CEO, MS Solutions. “When USB extenders are used to connect USB devices located beyond the reach of a single cable, the result is often visible signal degradation, such as the loss of several frames per second, which would not otherwise occur with single direct cable USB connection.
Pair of microphone solutions from MSolutions
MSolutions’ two microphone solutions meet audio capture and conferencing needs in small, medium and large spaces. The company’s MS-SP8 digital array microphone offers beamforming technology to reduce noise and produce clear sound quality in loud acoustic environments. This patent-pending technology is integrated into a microphone complete with USB-2.0 and 3.5mm audio interfaces, making it ideal for use as a hands-free conferencing and presentation device.
The new MS-BEAM2 is an all-in-one soundbar that takes the same approach to audio quality for small spaces and small classrooms. Its beamforming microphone can pick up a speaker’s voice from anywhere in the room, and its full-frequency speaker ensures intelligible sound while maintaining a compact overall product footprint.
Both audio products add a low-distortion beamforming algorithm that automatically detects and focuses on the person speaking, improving sound pickup without picking up other audio distractions in the room. What sets the MS-BEAM2 apart, however, is a streamlined three-in-one design that also incorporates a 4K UltraHD camera, providing an all-in-one video and audio solution that can be easily moved from room to room when sharing between many smaller spaces.
MSolutions announces that it plans to release USB-C testing on its MS-TestPro portable AV test devices.
“Because vendors may change the designs and structures of the USB-C cables they manufacture, testing helps determine whether a particular USB-C cable has enough bandwidth to support high traffic volumes. high video,” says Marcus. “We intend to add this capability in response to global customer demand as the latest generation of laptops now rely on the higher bandwidth of USB-C to transmit 4K UHD video. high resolution.”
