A vacancy has arisen for a QA Manager who will be responsible for the design and implementation of policies and procedures ensuring that products, processes, facilities and systems conform to quality standards. This is an initial hands-on technical position in Software QA that will evolve to a more processes-definition role focussed on ensuring overall company quality. Responsible for managing a team of quality assurance engineers working to test security applications, the QA Manager will also guide the efforts of automation engineers working to build automated test suites for these products. He/she will be responsible for the build/release process of software development, executing all quality assurance and testing activities over the entire software life-cycle, including: requirements tracking, review of functional specifications, participation in design reviews and code walkthroughs, development & execution of test plans and evaluation of product readiness for release. The role also includes responsibility for setting up software tools for testing support, release engineering, configuration management and other aspects of the QA process. Responsibilities • Ownership of the overall product quality • Define QA strategy including automation, regression and performance setting QA compliance objectives and ensuring that targets are achieved • Driving the staff to plan, formulate and agree comprehensive quality procedures • Create and maintain comprehensive test plans and test specifications • Lead by example in hands-on design and development of black and white box testing using Java open source automation tools • Building, labeling, releasing the content (source code and database configuration) onto multiple environments • Collaborate with the development team on test tool development, performance optimization, debugging and problem isolation. • Define and track QA metrics including code coverage, overall quality & performance • Communicate effectively and consistently on the quality of the product including providing executive summary • Advocate for customer satisfaction, QA processes, and continuous improvement • Document and implement QA standards, processes & methodology • Assume the responsibility to coordinate and administer third party quality audits, inclusive of schedules, communication, reports and tracking follow-up actions • Promoting quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organisation Requirements • Computer Science degree and 5 years' relevant work experience, with at least 2 years' QA experience in software testing, test-plan creation and implementation, white & black box testing… • Experience in a concurrent development environment for a single product • Object Oriented Design with ability to understand code (C++, Java) • SQL & Oracle at query/user level • Proven track record working as a core member of a high-performance team • Detail oriented, strong trouble-shooting skills, excellent multi-tasking • English language written and read. Desired • Knowledge of automated test tools • Load and performance testing experience • Development of J2EE applications
