Our client, one of the largest Global Organisations specialising in online travel & leisure, is seeking an experienced Market Co-ordinator with a high level of Spanish and English for their Barcelona office. Job Mission: Support market managers in managing negotiated inventory blocks and rates so as to ensure accuracy of data and consistent supply as well as load new and renewal contracts. Assist and backup the Market Manager by coordinating administrative tasks and taking action on issues jointly with input of Market Manager. This support will help the respective Market Manager to own even better and to grow even more the assigned market profitability. Key Areas Of Responsibility: • Loading renewals and follow up on renewal status • Backup when Market Managers are out of office: • Extranet updates • Relaying important matters to MM via phone/ e-mail • Check fax/ pigeon hole • Daily mail recap of main events/issues • Follow up of payment issues, keeping Market Managers in loop, either by cc or separate mail (if issue was taken care of by fax/ phone). • Weekly recap mail with tasks accomplished/ still outstanding. • Systematic communication of status of requested tasks, (completed; waiting for abc; etc). • Following up on inventory shortages specifically in high demand periods such as fairs. • Welcome calls in coordination with the market manager. • Coordination of the Merchandising needs for each respective market (loading DRR’s, promotions, deals…). • Rate Competitive spot checks. • In depth market information research: important tourism information, origin of visitors, hotel market split… (i.e. Regional support, Sales support). • Mailing and/or bulk emailing to existing suppliers for: company updates (i.e. new extranet features), new merchandising offers/ • Coordination with the Support team and update for: contract loading, info sites, photos, star rating. • Participate in the weekly MBR process by keeping the team updated on the ongoing projects, issues resolved, completed assigned projects. • Office Management role • Implement room restrictions including minimum stay, no arrival, no departure, stop-sell, re-open, add or reduce inventory. • Print and successfully fax room request re-cap reports to hotel partners, maintain required records of updates and fax re-caps. • Create or update Excel rate sheets with rate data. • Use Excel spreadsheet to calculate hotel pricing and promotions. Transfer Excel pricing to in-house database. (Note: staff member will sign and date work then hand off to Market Manager.) MM will proof, sign off and either load rates or return to staff member to load into in-house database live. • Review Info Sites on the company and note corrections to hotel information and digital images based on current information received from hotel partners. • Proof own work. • Maintain status schedule of data completed, data in-progress & data waiting to be processed. • Maintain open dialogue with Market Managers and Regional Manager Contacts: This position involves frequent interaction with the Market & Regional Managers on a day to day level. In addition, daily interactions shall include communications with other internal departments and teams such as: accounting, content, support, merchandising, as well as occasional interactions with external parties such as hotel suppliers, CVB’s, Tourism Offices… Requirements /Qualifications: • College degree preferred or related work experience. • Strong organization, communication, and people skills required. • Team player, looking to grow to the Market Manager level. • Good phone and people skills. • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and usage of the Internet. • Ability to work and thrive in a multi-tasked, fast paced environment. • Professional, “get it done: attitude and work ethic. • Proficiency in English
